"The Internet of Things" is a dynamic new concept of following our food, products, medicine, transport systems and logistics as they pass through each development stage. From biodynamic farm produce through the supermarket to our homes. From the factory through value chains to our homes and schools and offices.
Through each stage, the information about the item, its quality and its treatment is checked and scanned by products like these new TIOT 2000 and 9000 from Adlink Inc. This small very robust hand-held computer is equipped with barcode scanners, hidef camera and a range of 3G and wifi telecoms.
As a breakthrough, Adlink is now introducing the world's first Android professional mobile computer of this type. DN has designed the product to withstand the rigours of heavy industrial use - yet in a light, very ergonomic way with great user-friendliness.
January 9th 2011 | Hardwired for quality - RTX Forerunner Series
Even in our modern "mobile" world there are actually many instances where corded phones are better. Hotels, health care, public institutions and many offices worldwide are better served by corded phones. Better user friendliness, ergonomics and sound quality are obvious benefits but fixed line telehones offer many other uses for intergrating a phone system properly to meet a wide range of business and personal needs - and usually at the traditional low phone charges of the phones companies.
The RTX phones shown here are aimed at hotels, small businesses and normal private users but they can also be combined with RTX's very most advanced professional systems.

December 28th 2010 | Rapid Cleaning IP 1069
IP 1069 Compact is a product that took account of user needs right from the start. Designed as an economical way to keep touch screen smart phones clean and hygienic, the IP 1069 compact was based on user resarch and simple listening to customer needs.
Several versions were tried out in live trials and at international trade shows before the present version went into production. Like many Procare hit products, the IP 1069 compact appealed immediately to the global market. The Cleaning kits comprised two units - one with a wet cleaning function and the other a dry cleaning microfibre pad. Both units also have pull-slides that form a stand for the smart phone.
June 1st 2010 | LED there be light
Hélo Illumination Inc launched a remarkable new series of LED light bulbs at the recent show in Germany. Borrowing heat-control know-how from the IT world, Hélo has succeeded in taking a significant step forward in bringing LED's into universal use for everyone.
The short design deadline also underscores DN's Rapid Commercialisation skills coupled to strategic expertise. The design and concept work started in late December 2009 and the products were launched in February 2010. Global design and global solutions for the environment - and right for the new markets.
May 20th 2010 | Cipherlab 9300 Mobile Computer
Moving materials and goods around in our energy conscious world needs efficient and speedy control. CipherLab is one of Taiwan’s leading companies which build information devices that do just that.
Introduced in late 2009, their 9300 mobile computer not only remains the specified rugged feature, but also packs laser-reading, wireless communications features that it seems impossible to cram so much into the new ergonomic device. The large, bright screen with high readability and easy-to-use keypad moreover optimized the concept of use-friendliness.
But the features of the product itself are not the only point. What the CipherLab/DN partnership has achieved are management goals. By focusing on unique user requirements, the 9300 has been able to open more of Asia, European, American market. By combining the Double Value Design of fine product detailing with strategic market insight, the 9300 has given growth - where CipherLab's competitors are still struggling with the economic crisis.

October 22nd 2009 | Procare's transcontinental strategy
Just after the end of the Hong Kong Electronics Show 2009, Procare brought the Taiwanese and the Canadian marketing staff together with the managers of the Procare factories grouped in Hui Zhou, southern China - and DN from Europe. Through 3 days of meetings and a strategic workshop lead by DN's Judy Huang, Procare's leaders debated and innovated over strategies and targets for the future.
DN used the strategic game "Breakaway" as a focus. Not only did the participants from the three different continents share in creating new ideas, they also understood Procare better and developed a shared consensus.
September 12th 2009 | Procare TV and screen cleaner
The rapid change to flat LCD and Plasma screens for TV's and computer monitors has been followed by a need for cleaning and maintaining their sensitive surfaces. Rather than just provide single products for this purpose, Procare has introduced the concept of kits. These contain triangular microfibre pads - to clean into the corners - as well as brush and cleaning fluid.

August 21st 2009 | New ZyXEL BU Strategy
Starting a new Business Unit is no easy task. To help define targets, test some strategies and to weld the new BU team together, ZyXEL brought in DN. Using the strategic game "Breakaway" DN led a strategic workshop to get to grips within the basic ideas of the new Business Unit, its focus and the kind of products to be developed.
Consensus and internal communication with the BU was also strengthening as production staff, admin and marketing personnel developed ideas together.
July 12th 2009 | Touch Screen Cleaning Kit - Plus
At the top end of the market there are always people who want state-of-the-art solutions. An expensive touch screen product calls for proper maintenance.
Using Procare's inventive fluid technology and triangular pad design, developed by DN, this product includes all the wet and dry parts in a single kit. User-friendliness coupled to intricate movements of the kit give excellent cleaning and protection features.
May 15th 2009 | Design lift for Hiwin
Hiwin Microsystems is one of Asia's main manufacturers of linear actuators. This particular project developed new actuators for uses such as hospital beds and environments where ease of cleaning and maintenance is crucial. With this design, Hiwin also patented the design and the internal mechanism and was able to take a lead in this very competitive field.

"Less - but better" is a DN slogan that is really brought to life in Procare's 1067 Cleaning Kit for mobile touch screens. To reduce a whole range of user-needs into a simple, economic but effective product - that is right for manufacture and the environment was an exciting design challenge.
It appealed immediately to the market - whether in Europe, Asia and the US. It's easily understood function, very compact size and its "just-right" design brought the 1067 a keen audience of fans across the globe.
April 11th 2009 | Touch Screen Cleaning Kit - Mobile
Shiny surfaces and touch screens look great on marketing photos, but keeping your iPhone or Nokia clean is a problem. Or rather, it was a problem. Procare launched their internationally popular cleaning kit in response to the challenge. Using wet cleaning pads and dry microfibre cloth the compact kit received a keen reaction from users worldwide.
Women users were particularly enthusiastic about the special stylus which allows the touch screens to be operated - without fingernails touching the screen surface.

DN helped Eo Link on the new CBI (Corporate Branding Identity) design. To express the company’s visions and her sales in Germany and other European countries, the company name was suggested to be EO Link (to link European and Oriental market) by DN design team.
The design is settled with black-white logo but colorful combination to match company’s future development.

DN was commissioned to develop an elegant and powerful identity for Astoria Networks. The identity had to signal technological knowledge and user adapted solutions, while containing hints from both the Asian and European cultures.

Together with ZyXEL's management team, DN have developed their new packaging system for the consumer range of routers, firewalls and security products.

Industrial Research and Technology Institute [ITRI] in Hsin Chu Science City is probably the main knowledge centre and driving force in Taiwan's industrial development over the past decades.
The Creativity Lab is the hub of all creative and design thinking within ITRI's vast campus of talent.
Over the past years DN has held a series of strategic lectures, seminars and week-long workshops for Creativity Lab staff, ITRI researchers and consortium companies on Blue Ocean methods of development.
January 17th 2008 | Cipherlab 9400 Rugged PDA
Leading manufacturer of handheld barcode readers CipherLab came to DN for assistance on the development of their new 9400 rugged PDA barcode reader. The unit combines all today’s standards in one compact, wirelessly connected unit. The PDA has been designed for rough use in most fields, with a high resistance to bump, humidity, temperatures. Meanwhile with great ergonomics the all-day manipulation is made possible.
CipherLab and DN decided on a more intelligent than rugged look for the PDA. An extensive amount of rubber padding is needed to take the 1.5m drop tests, so integrating this into the design was quite a challenge. The solution was a sandwich build with big rubber bumpers on either side of the screen, adding both to the protection and grip of the delicate hardware.

December 1st 2007 | H&H Visual identity
H&H is fast becoming a leading provider of industrial condition monitoring for large industrial plants.
The main aim of the project was to create a unique corporate brand identity for H&H. The result is a system, build by the H’s, but it has several layers, showing the multiplicity of H&H. It also tells the story of the overall view of a system, the strategy, the flow, the collaboration between H&H and their clients.
The elegant and powerful logo has the qualities of a traditional Asian seal, the art of calligraphy and use of typography.
October 16th 2007 | PSP speakers
In this case the DN design team got the perfect chance to get down and dirty in the gaming world. World known OEM speaker producer Jazz Hipster wanted to make a cool and innovative gaming product for the SONY PSP gaming console.
The team solved the project by designing a stand alone stereo speaker system, attachable by a simple flexible bracket - still leaving a large space for the hands. The speakers fold up when in use angling the speakers perfect in relation to the gamer.

September 15th 2007 | Procare Digital Camera Cleaning Kit
To take good photographs with a digital camera, it's best to have the lens, viewfinder display as clean as possible. The smaller the cameras get the higher the definition, the more the optics need to be crystal clear. To let users get the most out of their cameras, Procare has introduced a camera cleaning kit where the "pen" consists of a display cleaning pad, a micro pad for the lens and a brush for surface dust.

Notebook computers collect just as much dust and germs as static computers, but maintaining their surfaces needs different tools. In response to many enquires from Procare's customers, DN developed a notebook cleaning kit. For the Taiwanese watch company ATOP, DN have created a new comprehensive corporate identity and promotional material, reinforcing ATOP's position in the market as a serious and innovative precision time-piece creator taking its place alongside the established popular brands on the market.
The clean and stylish logo, expresses ATOP´s core values such as innovation, intelligence and internationalism – all symbolized in a modern and strong way.
Besides the logo the delivery included name cards, stationery, presentation templates, and several proposals for new exhibition stand concepts.
March 1st 2007 | Quick-start guides
The instruction manuals designed for Procare take different forms depending on the type of product it must present. The main focus was to develop a series of simple icons, supplemented with as little text as possible to match the overall simplicity of the Procare product range.
In collaboration with Procare DN has developed a system of 4 types of IM´s: The QuickStartGuide, the Simple IM, the Complex IM and the IM PDF. The manuals are all designed in accordance with Procare´s graphical identity, and match the packaging system in which they are placed.

A strong and professional website is considered as one of the most important ways to brand a company and communicate with clients and potential users. In collaboration with INET-DESIGN and DN, Procare wished to develop a new and more user-friendly website based on a hypermedia structure in multiple languages.
The new Procare website is seen not just as a digital window into Procare products, but a complete business tool which is focused on customers and agents needs. The website targets on the user, with an enjoyable interface structure, letting the user dive into the Procare product universe, and is mostly based on pictures instead of texts.

ZyXEL's newest gateway was developed and designed together with DN. By combining VoIP capabilities with a traditional WLAN gateway a truly innovative product has been created.
The gateway has been designed to both stand, hang and lay on a flat surface, this is made possible by adding a small and simple plastic part - used only when laying and hanging, and therefore not interfering with the overall design language.
The gateway has now been awarded the 2007 Red Dot Award for its outstanding design and functionality. Congratulations to ZyXEL on this prestigious award.

eFlash gives you the possibility of presenting the most common office applications without having to use a laptop. eFlash is a small handy ergonomic device which is easy to carry around. It connects easily and intuitively to a projector or TV with simple cable connectors.
The secret behind eFlash is that it uses a sophisticated chip, giving ability to store thousands of files. We have aimed for a characteristic and organical design. It's built around a simple oval, giving a rather technical product an elegant expression. The shape is cut in both ends to embrace sockets etc. The detailing matches the overall design language.

To connect your computer to the internet it needs a router - which used to be real nerd product in an anonymous black or silver box covered with incomprehensible flashing lights. In Draytek's new design, DN has redefined the router as your gateway to the net.
The flow of your information through the product has been made visible and the connections and their signal lamps are related to their purpose. The energy of digital communication ripples through the dynamics of the hardware.

A cordless telephone for use in the home and at the office requires a very different design from mobile telephones. This cordless phone design becomes part of our surroundings, not a personal product like a mobile phone. So the design language is expressed differently.
Great attention to the ergonomics of this phone and to its advanced display result in a new and expressive design for the markets in Europe and the Far East.
