DN is a multi disciplinary design agency helping companies around the world develop and design the products, strategies and graphics of tomorrow.
Q System is a leading provider of handling systems for all areas of production - and for all lines of business. Through a series of user centered observations and systematic analysis of Q's current pallet dispenser, DN has assisted in the design and development of the new design. The new design has led to Q System developing a brand new stand-alone unit that runs on electrical power only, whereas the old used both electrical power and pressurised air. Maintenance has been greatly improved, making the all-new mechamics much more accesible.
As part of the 7+7 Project - a design program supported by the Danish Enterprise and Construction Authority - DN did an extensive analysis of Q System's now defunct pallet dispenser. By observing and interviewing current users and clients and documenting our findings using pictures, video and text, DN was able to expand and support Q System's own project specification and supply Q with a groundbreaking design. User centred design allows for both client and designers to obtain insights into the way users use and experience products and services.
Together with the DSB (Danish National Rail) the team from DN helped plan, execute and analyze a series of user-centered observations, ranging from classic interviews to Rapid Prototyping and in-house workshops. The aim of this process - part of the Desinova project - was to focus on service design and how to best link the insights and findings of user-centered development to the facts and numbers of the classic business case in order to strengthen the validity and understanding of future investments.
